Anies Menandatangani Perjanjian Pembangunan Stadion dengan Suporter PSM

Makassar: Anies Rasyid Baswedan, candidate for President of Indonesia number 1 who is paired with Muhaimin Iskandar, which is supported by the Coalition for Change from the NasDem Party, PKS, PKB and the Ummat Party, on Saturday, November 18, 2023 signed a political contract with the supporters of the Makassar Football Association (PSM) regarding the plan to build a football stadium that has been demolished and abandoned during the era of South Sulawesi Governor Nurdin Abdullah.

In an event entitled ‘Supporters Demand the Commitment of Presidential Candidates to Build a Stadium in Makassar’. “Where is the PSM Makassar Stadium?” echoed the supporters of PSM Makassar, because the Mattoanging Stadium, which is the home of the pride of the people of South Sulawesi, is now unformed and still entangled in legal problems.

Representatives of PSM supporters from Laskar Ayam Jantan, Daeng Uki, even admitted that it was sad, the team that won the highest caste in the Indonesian League did not have a stadium. “We are here not representing a community, but as supporters and lovers of PSM,” he said.

“It’s sad, the team we love, we defend, we have given everything for, but it doesn’t have a stadium. Only Pak Anies promised to build a stadium if elected, and this will be permanent,” continued Daeng Uki.

And indeed, during his previous visit to Makassar, Anies promised to rebuild the stadium, which could be used by all levels of society.

“I have stated before when I was in Makassar, that one of the things we want to build in Makassar and other provinces, is a FIFA standard sports stadium,” said Anies, who mentioned that the situation without a stadium in Makassar was similar to what happened in Jakarta before there was JIS.

One of the areas chosen to build an international standard stadium is Makassar, because according to the former Governor of DKI Jakarta, the people of South Sulawesi really need it. “The stadium unites, makes people from different backgrounds sit together in the stadium, feel togetherness. So the stadium is indeed important,” exclaimed Anies.

The existing stadium, he continued, can be used by all elements of society, including people with disabilities. both those using wheelchairs, or other physical assistive devices, can utilize the existing stadium.

“The international standard stadium, of course, can be used for social activities, cultural activities, religious activities, in addition to sports activities,” continued Anies.

On that occasion, he also showed a model of the stadium that would be built, and named it the Mattoanging International Stadium, with a capacity of 40 thousand spectators at the site of the old stadium, Jalan Cendrawasih, Makassar.

“The shape of the stadium is inspired by the model of the pinisi ship and the baju bodo, the traditional dress of the Bugis-Makassar. All are inspired by local wisdom,” concluded the former Governor of DKI Jakarta. MI / Lina Herlina (CDE)
