Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka have officially been elected as president and vice president, after the General Election Commission (KPU) of Indonesia announced the results of the recapitulation on Wednesday (20/3) night. Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the people who had exercised their right to vote in the 2024 election.
“We want to express our highest thanks and appreciation to those who have used their right to vote in the 2024 election,” he said at a press conference at Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/3).
Prabowo also conveyed his thanks to the KPU and the Election Organizer Honorary Council (DKPP) for the smooth implementation of the 2024 election, as well as to the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) for ensuring that this year’s democratic celebration proceeded in an orderly and safe manner.
“On February 14, 2024, we experienced the smooth conduct of the election. On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran and the United Indonesia Coalition, thank you to the KPU, DKPP, as well as a great appreciation to the TNI-Polri for ensuring that the 2024 election was very organized, safe, and peaceful,” he said.
Prabowo then expressed his gratitude to the United Indonesia Coalition (KIM) that supported him, especially to the chairpersons and all members of political parties within it. In addition, Prabowo also thanked the National Campaign Team (TKN) and all supporting volunteers.
“We express our thanks and appreciation to all chairpersons and members of all parties in KIM, then TKN, volunteers, mothers who are present here (at Kertanegara IV residence),” said Prabowo.
Prabowo invited all the people of Indonesia to unite in bringing the country towards prosperity and justice. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the spirit of nationalism amidst differences.
“We invite all the people of Indonesia to look forward together, unite, hold hands. We must be harmonious, work together to bring Indonesia towards prosperity and justice,” said Prabowo.
“We must strengthen the spirit of nationalism, if there are differences among us, it is good. We respect differences. The election is over, all choices made by the people must be respected,” he continued.
Finally, he asserted that Prabowo-Gibran would be the president and vice president who would work as hard as possible for all the people of Indonesia. Prabowo stated that they would prove this mandate by being leaders who truly serve the people.
“We have been chosen by the people, the mandate of the people is in our hands. Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president of the government for all the people of Indonesia. For those who did not choose us, please give us a chance. We will prove to be the president and vice president who will work as hard as possible for all the people of Indonesia,” he concluded.
