Indonesia celebrated its 80th Independence Day under President Prabowo Subianto, creating a unique and inclusive atmosphere. The State Palace invited around 60 small business vendors, with all their products purchased by the Palace and served to guests, the majority of whom were members of the public. The vendors, like Wahyu who sells traditional kue apem cakes, expressed their gratitude and happiness for the opportunity. This year, in a special gesture, 60 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) were invited to provide 30,000 portions of food and drinks free of charge to the public at various points around the Palace. Visitors were thrilled to be able to experience the State Palace up-close, with one attendee sharing their excitement on Instagram about the newfound openness of the Palace. The event was a symbol of unity, bringing together officials, ordinary citizens, and small street vendors in celebration of Independence Day under President Prabowo’s leadership.
