The Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force successfully completed a humanitarian aid mission in Gaza Strip, Palestine on August 17, 2025, coinciding with Indonesia’s 80th independence anniversary. This mission was a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Defense, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Alms Agency (Baznas).
Departing from King Abdullah II Air Base in Amman, Jordan, two Indonesian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft conducted an airdrop of aid supplies over Gaza before safely returning to the forward operating base. Colonel Pilot Puguh Yulianto, Commander of the Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force, stated that the mission proceeded smoothly without major obstacles.
The aid packages included staple foods, ready-to-eat meals, medical equipment, blankets, and items specifically for children, aimed at providing essential supplies for Gaza residents. This mission was carried out under the direct orders of President Prabowo Subianto, highlighting Indonesia’s commitment to international humanitarian solidarity.
The success of this mission on Indonesia’s independence anniversary was celebrated as a moment of national pride, showcasing Indonesia’s active role on the global stage and its contributions to global peace. Yulianto emphasized that this achievement marked a historic milestone and a special gift for Indonesia on its Independence Day.
