President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, made a surprise departure for Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday evening aboard the Whoosh high-speed train. Traveling from Halim Station in Jakarta, the President arrived at the station dressed in a cream-colored outfit, blending in with fellow passengers as he boarded the train for Tegalluar Station in Bandung.
His presence sparked excitement among commuters, as he warmly engaged with the crowd and waved to onlookers. Before the departure, President Prabowo took photos with the Whoosh crew and boarded the high-speed train at 8:00 p.m.
Scheduled to open the 2025 Indonesian Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) at the Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) from August 7 to 9, President Prabowo will deliver the keynote address alongside Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto. The convention, themed “Economic Growth and Equity Through Mastery of Science and Technology,” is set to be a crucial forum on both national and international levels.
